Go to the Art Institute!
In case you have somehow missed all the advertisements- the Art Institute is FREE until the 22nd for the opening of the new modern wing. (it wasn't even nearly as crowded as we thought it would be!) If you missed it today, you should really go check it! I'm not exactly a big fan of modern art, but they do have some nice stuff there. (just skip the freaky clown video!)
One of the best treasures at the museum right now is in the basement. There is a Bill Peet exhibit featuring his illustrations and some photos of storyboards from Sword and The Stone. This exhibit ends the 24th! So go see it NOW! We're going two more times before it ends and we picked up his illustrated autobiography. Here's a link to the exhibit: http://www.artic.edu/aic/e
