cat scan ;)

I did a few cat scans and like how artsy this one turned out. :)

headless skeleton

Skeleton update!

Here's my headless skeleton. I think I prefer him headless. lol. Next week I'll build the armature for the head and start getting some clay on there! Almost done! Looking back, there are things I wish I could fix, but the wire is so hard to bend and get just right. I just don't have the hand strength for that. Now that I've had this practice, my future skeletons should be better. Overall, I'm happy with this one so far.

background design

I would much rather prefer to animate than doing background designs, so consequently, I have very little experience with it. Here's a sky background I created in Photoshop today. I hope to strengthen my background designing and illustrating skills this year.

back (again) to figure drawing

It felt great to get back to figure drawing today after another long hiatus from it. Later in the week I will be starting to sketch the skeleton instead. I really hope to start going much more regularly. (I've said this several times in the past, but this time I really mean it! haha) This will be quite interesting to watch my drawings improve. It still feels like I have a long way to go.

little animation assistants

I am really enjoying our tiny, furry kittens. Buster (pink nose) is my little animation buddy. Nearly every time I go to animate, he crawls up and sleeps in my animation desk or sleeps in my lap. Usually Charlie (black nose- top photo) is the lap cat. In fact, he's sleeping on my lap as I am typing this. They are both full energy but so filled with love and affection. It's great. Just wanted to share a few photos while they're still so young and sweet. :)

Skeleton Update

Happy New Year to all! I hope that 2012 will be a great year for me in terms of growing more as an artist. Here's an update of where I am at on my small skeleton. I usually only get three hours a week on it, so it's a bit of a slow process at the moment. Today I finished the feet and on Tuesday I'll start the arms. Oh, so close! Though, I am dreading the skull. I hope it turns out okay. lol. This is only my first skeleton. There will be more. ;)

The other photo I took in class long ago of an encouraging quote I assume our teacher wrote.

Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day! Here's a piece we drew about 12 years ago that's been a favorite. ⭐️
