Women in History

To celebrate Women's History month, Catherine and I collaborated on a new piece as a follow up to last year's Women in History print. (as promised to some of you at a few conventions this past year!) It goes without saying that once again it was really difficult picking out who to include and many couldn't fir in once again. Perhaps we'll do a third? We hope you enjoy this!

Hotwire Animation Keys

Here's something I've been meaning to share! It's a small look at the process of animation!

I did animation keys on this episode of The Awesomes. Keys refer to all the poses a character makes to form a movement. This key animation has more breakdowns than normal because the movements are carefully planned out. After animation keys are approved, the scenes are handed to another animator to inbetween it. Inbetweens are all the drawings between each key drawing. In this case, we are using puppets, but they still require new drawings when needed. In this sequence the inbetweener most likely had to draw more hair, arms, lips, and skirt follow through.

To see the rest of this sequence, please check out The Awesomes on Hulu!
